Presented at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show and penned by the legendary Marcello Gandini, the Countach assumed the mantle from the already peerless Miura. Its design was unlike anything previously seen in a supercar, defined by a fundamental shift spelled out in its very name: LP – Longitudinale Posteriore – denoting the new rear, longitudinal engine layout.
Rosso is one of those shades that instantly sets a car apart: impactful yet not overly flashy, it subtly accentuates the muscular shape of the Countach’s design. This car is excess in its purest form – absurdly wide, impossibly low, its width nearly double its height.
No surprise, then, that driving a Countach draws more stares than piloting a spaceship – which, in comparison, might actually seem more conventional. After all, in Piedmontese dialect, Countach means exactly that: awe and astonishment.

This Countach is one of only a few officially certified by Lamborghini Polo Storico, in November 2025. Unlike the vast majority of Lamborghini’s certifications, which are handled through official dealerships, this Countach was inspected and certified at the Lamborghini factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese by the Polo Storico Team.
Countach 25th Anniversary History
The Countach 25th Anniversary was built to celebrate Lamborghini’s quarter century milestone. Produced in just over 650 examples, it marked the final and most refined evolution of the Countach lineage – both in terms of design and driving dynamics.
A young Horacio Pagani, then part of Lamborghini’s special projects division, poured his genius into making an already extreme supercar even more radical. The result was a series of meaningful upgrades: improved aerodynamics, optimized cooling systems, and enhanced performance – all without compromising the Countach’s unmistakable silhouette.
The result? It became the fastest and most powerful Countach ever built.
